Amateur Status

A player is only permitted to participate in the Perth Football League as an AMATEUR.

The Perth Football League defines an AMATEUR as one who does not receive or agree to receive, either directly or indirectly, any remuneration or reward whatsoever (whether by match payments or expenses or otherwise) in respect to their participation as a player in the Perth Football League.

A player who has or have received such remuneration shall:

  1. be fined a sum not exceeding $2000; and
  2. have their registration to play cancelled.

A player is permitted to receive a match day award in recognition of performance not exceeding the value of $200.
