The WAAFL Integrated State Team competed at the AFL National Inclusion Carnival on the Gold Coast last week.
The WA side qualified for Pool B after winning two out of seven matches at the carnival’s round robin style grading day.
The Pool B competition consisted of four teams- South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia.
WA managed to win their first two matches of the carnival against South Australia and the Northern Territory before they were defeated by Tasmania in their final match on Friday. The loss dropped them into third position on the Pool B ladder and unfortunately, they missed the Pool B Grand Final by percentage only.
However, they still had one more game as they played off for third position against the Northern Territory. The WA side finishing the carnival with a comfortable 85-point victory.
Fillip Ranieri and Raphael Gould were rewarded for their efforts in the carnival by being named in the All Australian team.
