North Beach travelled to UWA Sports Park to take on a strong Uni side in a close match that gave viewers a glimpse of the finals series.
Both sides gave a fierce contest that showed why both teams have dominated throughout the home and away season and will be strong contenders in the finals.
Despite North Beach’s ability to stay in the contest it was their inability to make the most of their opportunities going forward that cost them the game.
Uni had a dominant final quarter that comfortably gave them the win at 9.10 (64) beating North Beach’s 7.7 (49).
The first three quarters played out as a much tighter and low scoring contest with Uni only leading by two points at the end of the first term.
Despite gaining a bigger lead of two goals going into half time, North Beach gained momentum in the third term that saw them even up the contest and trail Uni by only two points again.
However, North Beach couldn’t maintain their ability to put pressure on the scoreboard and Uni came out firing in the final term, kicking four straight goals.
The result wraps up the home and away season with Uni sitting at third on the ladder, trailing the number-one North Beach by only one win, setting up for an exciting finals series.
Uni will be taking on Fremantle CBC at Morris Buzzacott Reserve in the first round of the finals this Saturday.
