A Grade

As we approach the half way point of the season and head into the bye, Fremantle CBC remain undefeated in A Grade. The round seven top of the table clash saw Fremantle CBC defeat Scarborough by 22 points. Last week Fremantle CBC managed to defeated University by 17 points. Robert Young kicked four goals for CBC.

Kingsway defeated Wanneroo by seven points in round eight to push them into seventh position on the ladder. Michael Wood kicked six goals up forward for Kingsway while Brayden Duckworth kicked six for Wanneroo. Michael Wood leads the goal kicking for A Grade so far with 28 majors, four goals ahead of James Charlesworth from Curtin Uni Wesley.

North Beach had a close match against Wembley, holding on to win by three points. North Beach led early with a 19-point lead at quarter time. Wembley came back strong in the second and third quarter kicking five goals to North Beach’s three to be down by seventeen points at three quarter time. Despite a three-goal final quarter Wembley couldn’t get in front at the final siren leaving them in eighth position on the ladder with just two wins this season.

Kalamunda remain on the bottom of the ladder after a 37-point loss to Trinity Aquinas in round eight. Ryan Murphy kicked six goals for Trinity Aquinas to give them their fifth win of the season.

Second placed Scarborough defeated ninth placed Curtin Uni Wesley by ten points at Ablett Park. James Charlesworth kicked four goals with Scarborough’s Sam Davies and Joel Ashman kicking three each.

 

B Grade

Kingsley continue to win in B Grade with eight straight wins for the year. They defeated Hamersley Carine in round eight with a 49-point win at Kingsley Park. James Del Borrello kicked six goals and currently leads the B Grade goal kicking by three goals.

Whitford had a close match against Thornlie winning by four points to claim their fourth win of the season. Over at Harmony Fields Swan Athletic also had a close match defeating Maddington by three points.

North Fremantle defeated West Coast by 30 points to sit in second place on six wins.

Mt Lawley drop into fourth after a 25-point loss to Collegians at Dalkeith Oval. The win moves Collegians into fifth spot.

 

C1 Grade

Willetton and Carlisle had a close match at Burrendah Reserve with Willetton claiming the four points with a two-point win. The win is Willetton’s fourth of the season and sees them move into fifth spot.

Ballajura remain on top of the ladder after a 48-point win over Kenwick. Ballajura’s Jordan Dobson kicked seven goals in the win.

Bassendean remain in second spot by percentage after they defeated Bullcreek Leeming by 36 points. Bullcreek Leeming remain on the bottom of the ladder with just one win for the year.

Fifth placed Melville came up against bottom placed Quinn’s Districts at Ridgewood Park. Melville claimed the win by 18 points to move into fourth spot on the ladder.

Stirling led early in their match against Gosnells to lead by eleven points at quarter time and ten points at half time. Unfortunately for Stirling after half time they could only manage one goal for the rest of the match with Gosnells kicking four goals. The final margin was 19 points in favour of Gosnells to leave them in third place heading into the bye.

 

C2 Grade

There were some big wins in C2 Grade in round eight with Nollamara winning by 83 points over Lynwood Ferndale. Warnbro Swans defeated Dianella Morley by 73 points to remain on top of the ladder.

High Wycombe defeated Canning South Perth by 44 points while Canning Vale defeated Snesa by 48 points.

The closest match of the round was between Ocean Ridge and Swan Valley with Ocean Ridge winning by 27 points. Ewan Brazier kicked five goals for Ocean Ridge.

 

C3 Grade

Coolbinia are the only team to remain undefeated this season in C2. Not only is their league side undefeated their reserves side is travelling just as well sitting undefeated on top of the ladder. Last week the league side had a dominant win over Piara Waters winning 25.12 (162) to 3.6 (24). Frank Agostino kicked a huge twelve goals for Coolbinia.

Kwinana remain in second spot after a close match against Cottesloe. Kwinana led by just three points at half time and eight points at three quarter time. They went on to win by thirteen points to claim their sixth win of the season.

There was no movement between third, fourth and fifth spot this week despite Mosman Park (3rd) having the bye. Secret Harbour (4th) defeated Brentwood Booragoon by 16 points while Belmont Districts (5th) defeated Ellenbrook by 41 points.

 

C4 Grade

Bayswater had their first win of the season with an eight-point victory over Yanchep at Hillcrest Reserve. Yanchep led early in the match and were up by 17 points at half time. A second half fight back saw Bayswater kick six goals to two to claim a much-needed win. Stephen Dodge kicked five goals for Bayswater.

Osborne Park defeated Rossmoyne by 13 points to remain in second spot on the ladder.

The rest of the matches in this round had big margins with Cockburn Lakes defeating Armadale by 84 points, Jandakot defeated Coolbellup by 85 points and Manning Rippers defeated Cockburn Cobras by 92 points.

 

Women’s

Curtin Uni Wesley are sitting on top of the ladder in the Women’s A Grade with five straight wins. They will face second placed Quinn’s Districts after the bye.

The ladder is all locked up at the top of the Women’s B Grade with Rossmoyne, Nollamara and Forrestdale all sitting on four wins. Rossmoyne are on top by percentage even though they have played one less game than the three teams below them.
