2023 A Grade Grand Finals Thu, September 14, 2023 - 8:45 AM

The 2023 A Grade Grand Finals will be decided in a triple header on Saturday 16 September at Steel Blue Oval.

It all kicks off with the CTF Phil Scott Colts at 10:00am as minor premiers Curtin Uni Wesley take on West Coast.

West Coast have come all the way from fifth on the ladder to feature in the final game in September, while Curtin Uni Wesley come in as red-hot favourites after only facing defeat on two occasions during the season.

North Beach will then go head-to-head with Trinity Aquinas in the Toyota A Reserves at 12:15pm.

Minor premiers North Beach who have won five of the last six A Reserves flags will be hoping for a repeat of their Qualifying Final that saw them overrun an inacurate Trinity Aquinas by 10 points.

The main event will take place at 2:30pm with Trinity Aquinas coming up against Curtin Uni Wesley in the Toyota A Grade decider.

Minor premiers Trinity Aquinas return to the big stage for the first time since they won the Sandover Shield in 2017 and head coach Adam Pickering will be hoping to taste premiership success in his first season at the helm.

The Boomers have been the team to beat all year with spearhead Ryan Vermeersch leading the charge, booting a league-high 65 goals which is the highest tally the PFL has seen in A Grade since 2009.

Curtin Uni Wesley are no stranger to September, featuring in the Grand Final for a third year in a row after falling short to Kingsway in 2021 and Fremantle CBC in 2022.

They last won the Sandover Shield in 2013 and Craig White and his men will be hoping to go one better on Saturday to make up for previous year's shortcomings.

All three games will be streamed live and free on streamer.com.au

Steel Blue Oval will have a Carlton Dry can bar set up on the hill, three bars, a sausage sizzle, ice cream van, food trucks and a Playzone for the kids with bouncy castles, water slides and face painting.

There will also be a longest kick competition at quarter time of the league game with a Burley Footy up for grabs. A 'bin it to win it' competition will take place at half time with a $100 prize. Spectators must bring their own footy to enter.

Entry is $15 (Free for children 15 and under).
