Return to Training Protocols - 18 May 2020

With the announcement of the WA Government’s COVID-19 Road Map, the WA Football Commission has provided Return to Training Protocols for all of football in WA. These are applicable to all Perth Football League clubs. There are additional obligations required from clubs wishing to train from Monday 18th May 2020. While the WA Government’s recent decision to ease social distancing restrictions to gatherings of up to 10 people is an encouraging sign in WA, it is important to note that community football remains postponed until May 31st. This includes training sessions at football clubs. Players are encouraged to continue training away from their club, while ensuring they follow the Government’s current social distancing guidelines. FAQ's about COVID-19 & the Perth Football League Season

What is the Perth Football League doing? We have contacted all Club Presidents to gauge the status of each club. We are preparing two plans, a nine-week season and a cancelled season. Clubs will be provided this financial information the beginning 30th March 2020 to apply to their own club situation. We have set up a closed Facebook group for Club Presidents to engage, share and lean on each other through this period of uncertainty.

The Perth Football League is postponing the commencement of the 2020 season until Saturday 13th June 2020, which is the scheduled midway point of the current fixtured season. The AFL have made announcements regarding state level football (WAFL) today.  The Perth Football League, along with other community football competitions, are working with the AFL and WA Football Commission regarding the status of community football for the 2020 season. Sixteen Teams join Women’s Competition
