Around the Grounds- Round 2

Wednesday, April 26, 2017 - 10:08 AM

A Grade

The 2017 Season has begun with the dominate teams from 2016 sitting right up the top.

University, Scarborough and Trinity Aquinas have started their 2017 campaigns with two wins from two matches with University leading the way by percentage.

University secured a 31-point victory in round one before a 78-point win over Whitford in Round two has given them a handy percentage to start the season.

Scarborough just managed to hold off Wembley in round one to record a twelve-point victory while in round two they had a comfortable sixty-three-point win over West Coast. Scarborough have been helped up forward by Samuel Davies and Jesse Gribble who have kicked six and five goals respectively already.

Reigning premiers Trinity Aquinas have managed to get the four points each week but have done it a little tougher with a five-point win in round one and a twenty-nine-point victory in Round two.

Newly promoted teams Wembley and Whitford are yet to win a game as well as West Coast who narrowly missed out on the finals last season.

Although Wembley are yet to win a game they have been competitive in both the matches they have played. They went down by just twelve points to Scarborough in round one and twenty points to North Beach in round two.
